Hailing from Australia’s extreme metal underground, GROTESQUE BLISS is a Doom/Death metal trio. Fans of Grave Upheaval’s suffocating atmospheres, TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE’s cavernous production, and Paramæcium’s cult doom-death legacy will find familiar echoes here. But GROTESQUE BLISS carve their own path with a primitive lurch, caveman-like execution, and serpentine songwriting that avoids modern excess. Occasional mid-tempo stomps emerge, only to be dragged back into a dirge of crushing slowness. Ethereal lead guitars and agonized vocal howls enhance the gloom, while guttural growls anchor the listener deep within the abyss.
